Al-Nahrain University

Founded in 1987, Al-Nahrain University (ANU) in Iraq is dedicated to academic excellence and social progress. It emphasises gender studies and women's empowerment through its Women's Empowerment Unit, which organises high-profile conferences on issues such as violence against women. The ANU's Political College conducts research on women's economic empowerment. The university also runs a law clinic to give students practical experience. The Legal Leadership project will support the development of the law clinic, improve interactions with non-university stakeholders, and enhance academic visibility through a web platform for working papers and policy briefs.
