Law Clinics

Law schools play a crucial role in the development of democratic institutions and the rule of law. However, in order to be able to have an impact on society, it is important that law students learn already at an early stage to apply their knowledge to practical cases. Law clinics were set up as an innovative teaching concept to allow students to solve practical cases of non-university clients for specific areas of law at an early stage of their studies and prepare themselves for the job market.

The DAAD LegalLead project, funded within the DAAD Taz’iz networks framework, seeks to build up and strengthen law clinics at the universities in the fields of female empowerment and Good Governance. In order to create a positive impact on society, students in the projekt learn how to efficiently transfer their academia knowledge in practical use. They are supported by the project's various partners. They also give the students access to an international network of decision-makers outside the university - from government institutions to local political think tanks and NGOs.
